Oversized Edison Bulbs: G200 vs PS160 vs ST164
Compare three statement oversized Edison bulb shapes and learn where each one works best.

Oversized Edison bulbs are for spaces where the bulb is part of the design. They work beautifully in pendant sockets, open fixtures, restaurants, bars, patios, and living rooms that need one strong focal point.
The G200 is the most familiar statement shape. It is a large globe, so it reads soft, balanced, and architectural. Use it when you want a generous glow without a dramatic silhouette. It works well over dining tables, in corners, and in simple pendant kits. See oversized bulbs at oversized.
The PS160 has more personality. Its elongated shape feels vintage and sculptural, especially when the filament is visible. Choose PS160 when the fixture is simple and the bulb needs to do the visual work. It is a strong choice for bars, coffee shops, restaurant booths, and rooms with taller ceilings.
The ST164 is the most vertical of the three. It has a stretched teardrop profile that feels elegant and old-world. It is ideal for spaces where you want height, warmth, and a little drama. ST164 can make a basic pendant socket feel like a complete fixture.
If you are choosing for a home, think about scale first. A G200 is often easiest to live with because the round shape feels calm. PS160 and ST164 are more expressive, which makes them great for feature lighting but less subtle in small rooms.
For commercial spaces, use oversized bulbs to create memory. A row of large warm bulbs over a bar or dining wall gives guests something recognizable and photo-friendly. Pair them with dimming when possible so the light can shift from daytime service to evening atmosphere.
If you need a socket kit, pair an oversized bulb with a pendant light from pendant.
